Excellence as our Mantra
With excellence as our mantra, innovation as our distinction and faith as our foundation, we delight in helping children grow under our watchful guidance and care. Educator Lois Rosenberry founded Children’s Discovery Center (CDC) in 1982. Committed to excellence, innovation and being distinctive in educational programming, Mrs. Rosenberry traveled to Italy in 1994 to research and train under the Reggio Emilia
early education program, designated by Newsweek
magazine as the best in the world.
She embraced the approach and chose the best components to successfully integrate into the CDC educational model. “The project-based philosophy views children as competent, capable and amazing,” she says. “It truly encompasses all they have to offer.” Today, eight Children’s Discovery Centers serves thousands of children in the Toledo, Ohio area and Mount Pleasant, South Carolina ages six weeks to 10 years.
